How bizarre ?! It feels like two weeks since I did a post on my 17th birthday look! Here I recreated my entire face of make-up that I used on the night of my 18th birthday. Violet Voss is currently in the pending section of the logical harmony cruelty-free list however under the palette’s description on the V.V. website it is stated that it is cruelty-free. I received the well sought after palette as an extremely generous gift for my 18th birthday.
I hope you all enjoy the entire makeup look as I got a new ring light recently also, so hopefully the lighting should be top notch 😀
I started off by priming my eyelids with the Urban Decay’s concealer in ‘Light Warm’ and setting my eyelids the NYX Contour Palette in ‘Soft Light’ and ‘Cream’. I used an Zoeva brush to pat in my concealer and a real techniques contour brush to set with powder. I also sprayed my concealer brush with some dewy setting spray from Barry M to make it easier to blend.
Then going in with the V.V. palette I’m using the shade ‘transition’ as my transition shade and buffing that into and slightly above my crease using the Sigma E38 Diffused crease brush.
Then to create more depth I used the shades ‘Bestie’ and ‘Are you Kitten Me’ in the crease with the same E38 brush.
I then added the colour ‘Hashtag’ in my crease and upper lid an blended that out using the Sigma E40 Tapered Blending Brush.
I then added the colour ‘Wine N Dine’ gradually. I started with little pigment on my brush and added it to my outer V, then I slowly started packing it on my middle to outer lid and blended it up to my crease. I used the Sigma E25 Blending Brush to pack the colour on first and I then went in with the E40 to make sure there was no harsh lines.
I then packed the colour ‘Cranberry Splash’ onto my lid using my finger for maximum pigmentation.
I then used a Wet and Wild large concealer brush to put the colour ‘On Fleek’ on my inner lid to add an ombre effect.
I then mixed the colours ‘Crystal’ and ‘Thanks a Latte’ and used them as a brow highlight and an inner corner highlight. I applied then using the Sigma E35.
I then took a wipe just to wipe away the fallout and started on my face.
I started off by priming my face with NYX Angel Veil primer and pressed it into my face with my fingers.
I then mixed Too Faced Born this way foundation in ‘Warm Beige’ with Wet and Wild coverall foundation in ‘Fair’ to match my tanning shade and applied it with a Real Techniques damp blending sponge.
I then applied the Urban Decay concealer I used earlier and applied it to the middle points of my face and blended it in with the same Real Techniques sponge then set that using the same NYX powders from earlier.
I then used the Anastasia Contour Palette in Fair and contoured with the shade ‘Havana’ with an unbranded brush. I contoured/bronzed using the usual figure of 3 motion
I then used the Jaclyn Hill x Becca Split Pan in ‘Champange Pop and Flower Child’. I used a Zoeva Luxe Sheer Cheek brush to apply the blush on the apples of my cheeks and then I sweeped the colour back into my countour. Then to highlight I just pinched the top of the brush and put the highlight above the blush and slightly blended it in.
I then set that with another bit of the Barry M setting spray.
Then I went back in with ‘Wine N Dine’ on my lower lash line. Using the Sigma E25 brush.
I then added a small bit of the shade ‘Toffee’ in the middle of my lower lash line.
As you can see the cranberry/red under toned shades really help to bring out the green in your eyes.
I then went in with ‘Iconic’ lashes from House of Lashes and applied them with the house of lashes black glue. ( Black glue is an absolute nightmare unless you get it perfect first time! I only used it because I lost my white one )
I then put some of the Balm’s Mad lash mascara on my lower lash line.
I then finished off the look with Colourpop’s Satin lip in ‘Magic Wand’. I didn’t fill in my eyebrows because I got them tinted already so I didn’t feel like I needed to.
And here is the finished look!
I hope you all enjoyed this look and please give me some feedback if you have any to give 🙂 I want to say a huge thank you to my mom who took these photos even though it was her first time using my camera ❤ If you want to see what I wore for my birthday and how I styled it I have pictures on my Instagram @lodlaur, there’s also a link in the side bar to it so check it out if you like ! 🙂
Have a great day and a great March !
Much love,
Laura x
