Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye-shadow Review // Rose Gold Retro

Hey dudes! This weeks post is a review on the well-hyped Stila Magnificent Metals Liquid Eye-shadow. I’m sure that many of you have seen these magical things floating around the internet for some time now and I thought it would be perfect to write a post about them as a build up to Christmas. These would be a perfect gift for yourself or for someone else.

This is one of those products that was definitely worth the hype for me. I bought my own one in the shade ‘Rose Gold Retro’ back around in August. So it is safe to say that I have been testing this product out for a good while. The price at first really does seem quite excessive for one liquid eye-shadow, but I feel like you could justify buying the one as a treat. I really do feel like they are quite unique in that many companies have tried to do a glitter liquid shadow but I feel like none have been as intense and pretty as these ones.

Application

To apply this product I like to take a little of it on the pack of my hand or you could take it on a mixing block, whichever you prefer, and I press the shadow onto my lid. I’ve seen a lot of people go in straight with these liquid eye-shadows onto the lid and if you want maximum glitter pigmentation that is probably the best way to do it. I found for myself that I have more control over the liquid eye-shadow when I go in with a smaller brush to pack the shadow in.

Longevity

Since the formula of this is in between a cream and a shadow it does a pretty good job of sticking to the lid. However, if you have hooded eyelids like me the glitter naturally does transfer from your mobile lid into your crease which can be a bit of a pain because there are a few flakes of glitter in your crease then but it’s safe to say that I got over it pretty quickly because it’s so pretty. The glitter lasts very long and any time I have applied is during the day and taken it off at night it has still been in good condition.

Value for Money

Now, as for value for money I am at a bit of a loss. I think I paid around €24 for my one. This may be pocket change for some but for the small liquid eye-shadow that you get I think it is pretty steep. That being said I have yet to find a proper dupe for it in the drugstore, so then the price can be explained by it’s uniqueness. So as I said in the beginning if you’re looking to treat yourself or someone else this Christmas it could be perfect but I would read around a few more reviews and look at a few more swatches to see if it’s for you.

November has been super busy for me thus far so I am sorry for a lack of post last week and hopefully I will be able to keep on top of things coming up to exams. As for now I hope you all enjoyed this post and let me know in the comments if you do know of a good dupe for these Stila liquid eye-shadows.

Much Love,

Laura x
