When I first started watching Youtube, in my younger days, I had no idea what a highlighter even was. All I knew was that according to the people of the internet Becca did their favourite ones. After thinking Becca was just a person for all of two months I did some research and found out it was actually a brand (poor young Laura :’)).
I got my first Becca highlighter around 1/2 years ago (shout-out to Síomha) when Jaclyn Hill collabed with Becca to make split pans. Then when I was in Milan I picked up my second one.
I feel like the word highlighter is just associated with the ‘Becca’ brand now. To be honest there is good reason for it too. The highlighters are not chalky or chunky. They are smooth and the pigment is evenly distributed throughout the pan so that there is no fear of having the odd glitter chunk on the face here and there.
However, when it comes down to it, I do think that they are over-hyped. They are lovely and the formula is pretty much bang on how it should be, but they are made out to be life changing half of the time.
If you’re looking to splurge on an expensive highlight, go for it, because they are very pretty, but remember that there is only so much a highlighter can do. Try not to get hyped-up with the hype.
Stay beautiful,
Much love,
Laura x
Thanks for sharing 🙂 These are pretty good highlighters, but I agree they don’t quite live up to the hype. My favorite highlighters are from Hourglass!

Great post! I didn’t enjoy the formula or the texture of Becca highlighters, too dry and chalky for me 🙁 x
